METHOD FOR PERFORMING TENSE CLOSED OSTEOSYNTHESIS IN FRACTURES OF SURGICAL BRACHIAL CERVIX Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: medicine, orthopedics, traumatology.

SUBSTANCE: one should make an opening in brachial diaphysis, withdraw needles tangentially towards an opposite cortical through this opening successively and via the fracture area into brachial caput. Needles' ends should be withdrawn beyond caput's contour. Needles' ends should be cut off at the distance being equal to three caput's diameters. The curvature point should be chosen at the distance being equal to one and the half of caput's diameter. In mentioned point needles should be bent till their complete juncture. Planes developed with curved needles' ends should be placed being mutually perpendicular to each other. Oriented needles should be applied with their curved ends back into the bone. One should cut off the needles introduced into diaphysial opening at 2 cm against brachial diaphysis, then they should be bent proximally to place needles' ends tangentially towards diaphysis. The method enables to provide earlier motor activity, shorten the terms of rehabilitation and make postoperational treatment of patients to be easier.
