FIELD: aerospace, power and electric engineering, and other branches of industry, in particular, chemical and thermal processing of parts before applying of coat thereto.

SUBSTANCE: method involves applying protective composition onto part surface portions; drying part; using protective composition, such as paste including powder mixture composed of active and inert components, and binder, with active component being metal selected from the group consisting of nickel, iron, cobalt or alloys based on said metals and used in an amount of 5-80% by total weight of powder mixture, and inert component being aluminum oxide or aluminum oxide and magnesium oxide used in an amount of 95-20% by total weight of powder mixture. Ratio of total weight of powder mixture and binder in paste is determined from expression 0.5 ≤ w.mix.pow./w.bind ≤ 10, where w.mix.pow is total weight of powder mixture of active and inert components, w.bind is weight of binder. In particular embodiments of invention, part is dried at temperature of 200C≤T≤3500C. Binder is composition including following components: colloxylin 1 part; amyl acetate 3 parts, diethyl oxalate 1 part.

EFFECT: increased efficiency in protecting of part selected portions during following applying of coat thereon.
