FIELD: experimental physics.
SUBSTANCE: method involves registering number of neutrons in vessel after opening of closure depending on holding time during equal partial registration intervals Δ ti, with total of said intervals being equal to complete registration interval and partial intervals and number of partial intervals in different cycles being equal; determining neutron storage time from formula =(T1-T2)/In(tgβ) depending on N2k=F(Nlk), where is accumulated account in J-cycle equal to total of sensor accounts in partial registration intervals from 1st to k interval; determining final storage time value by averaging values for cycle pairs.
EFFECT: increased precision in determining time for storage of neutrons in vessel and wider operational range of method.
