METHOD FOR MAKING ARTICLES SUCH AS DISCS, RINGS, FLANGES AND APPARATUS FOR PERFORMING THE SAME Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: plastic metal working in different branches of machine engineering for making wide assortment of articles such as discs, rings, flanges.

SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of placing annular blank with symmetry axis normal relative to its axis in detachable die mounted with possibility of rotation and having two die-halves with radial shaping cavity between them and annular cavity for placing blank. Above mentioned cavities are combined for defining single working cavity. Annular cavity is formed in blank at least by means of one tool used for imparting to blank radial deforming load. Tool is driven to rotation in radial direction along line laid in symmetry plane of blank. Annular cavity is formed in blank by pressing out by depth sufficient for achieving predetermined bridge of bottom. During pressing out process blank is braked in die. Apparatus for performing the method is provided with member for braking blank in die and with supporting roller mounted in opposite relative to main tool.

EFFECT: intensified shaping process, lowered deforming effort, enlarged assortment of articles.
