FIELD: petrochemical processes.

SUBSTANCE: method of treating raw material containing α-olefins, internal olefins, and saturated hydrocarbons comprises: (i) bringing raw material into contact with a linear polyaromatic compound to give reaction mixture composed of "linear polyaromatic compound-olefin" adduct and saturated hydrocarbons; (ii) separating above-named adduct from saturated hydrocarbons in reaction mixture to give adduct stream and saturated hydrocarbon stream; (iii) dissociating above adduct to give linear polyaromatic compounds and olefin composition consisted of α-olefins and internal olefins; (iv) bringing olefin composition into contact with linear polyaromatic compounds to give reaction mixture composed of "linear polyaromatic compound-linear α-olefin" adduct and internal olefin composition; (v) separating above adduct to give stream of adduct-bound linear α-olefin and internal olefin stream; (vi) dissociating "linear polyaromatic compound-linear α-olefin" adduct to give linear polyaromatic compounds and α-olefin composition, wherein concentration of linear α-olefins is higher than the same concentration in olefin composition while concentration of linear α-olefins in the latter is higher than the same concentration in raw material.

EFFECT: enabled α-olefin-internal olefin separation.
