FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: first and second ribs are completely removed, the third or third and fourth ribs are crossed near the spine. A constricting element, made in the form of a tape of a finished fine-mesh net from a non-absorbable, biocompatible synthetic material is applied at the lung apex. One end of the tape is fixed to the third sternal-rib joint. The free end of the tape is transferred through the lung dome, keeping one edge close to the mediastinum, after which the tape is stretched, stretching is maintained while fixing its free end with nodal sutures to the lower edge of the nearest non-crossed rib. The lateral edge of the constricting element is fixed to the pleura in at least two points and a bone-rib block is formed.
EFFECT: effective controlled collapse of the lung apex, creation of an additional support to form a new lung dome.
