FIELD: electron-beam welding, possibly in different branches of machine engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of creating at least one melt bath on wall of vessel near evacuation hole; providing overflow of part of melt metal from said bath into evacuation hole and holding it on wall of hole in the form of swelling; realizing metered overflow of metal due to oscillation of electron beam from center of bath until edge of evacuation hole; for large- diameter evacuation hole creating several successively arranged melt bathes and several metered swellings on wall of evacuation hole arranged uniformly along circle; then welding up evacuation hole due to successively flashing off its edge and swellings.
EFFECT: multiple acceleration of air evacuation from vessel until desired evacuation degree due to increased area of evacuation hole, lowered cost of evacuation process due to shortened operation time period of electron-beam installation.
