FIELD: pressure welding, namely evacuation of blank for welding by common pressing of different type materials, possibly for making bimetallic articles. SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of making opening in blank lid; placing blank in chamber of vacuum electron-beam welding installation; evacuating air and simultaneously heating blank from outside until temperature lower than oxidation temperature of welded material with higher chemical activity; selecting time period for evacuating in such a way that not to subject more active metal of evacuated sample to oxidation at temperature of welding by common pressing; then sealing openings. In the result evacuation rate of air is increased due to increased gaps between members of blank after its heating, due to increased pressure in blank caused by expansion of outer member of blank heated from outside.
