FISH-PASSING SPAWNING CHANNEL Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2233363 C1

FIELD: hydraulic engineering, particularly fish passes for permitting fish-breeder access through supporting structures to hatchery and fish growth places.

SUBSTANCE: channel includes water pass forming conduit, members of natural and increased roughness distributed along conduit bottom and additional through passes. Head of the conduit is connected to upper pool of hydro-system, opening of conduit communicates with lower pool. Heads of additional through passes are connected to water pass. Openings of additional through passes communicate with lower pool waterway and create multi-pass inlet head with separate fish passes. Longitudinal axes of additional through passes extend at different angles to longitudinal section waterway line of angle magnitude decreases towards waterway flow direction. Water-distribution station in connection area of additional through pass heads with water pass has curved longitudinal partitions connected to heads of additional through passes. Inlet heads of opening parts of additional through passes from coastline side have fish guiding device. Fish guiding device is formed as bottom projection with curved edge facing waterway bed part.

EFFECT: enhanced hydraulic conditions in lower pool for increasing possibility of fish access in inlet head of the channel.
