FIELD: production of high-silicate inorganic fibers from natural minerals of rock and manufacture of articles from these fibers.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method includes loading rock into melting furnace, melting this rock, homogenization of melt followed by stabilization of melt in melting furnace feeder, drawing the fiber, oiling and winding the fiber on reel. Used as rock is dacite or rhyodacite. Prior to loading the rock into melting furnace, it is preheated to temperature of 700-910 C and is kept at this temperature for 5-15 minutes for removal of chemically bonded water and burning-out of organic components. Then, rock is subjected to mechano-catalytic activation for obtaining particles at size not exceeding 15 mcm after which it is heated to temperature 2105-2200 C for obtaining the melt at degree of amorphism no less than 96% and separation of nonmolten quartzites from melt. Subsequent homogenization and stabilization of melt are performed at temperature of 1420-1710 C for obtaining the melt at viscosity no less than 130 P. Granite or rhyolite may be used as rock which is preheated to temperature of 750-950 C before loading into melting furnace and is kept at this temperature for 20-30 minutes till cracking of conglomerates and removal of water vapor. Then, rock is subjected to mechano-catalytic activation for obtaining particles at size not exceeding 10 mcm and is heated to temperature of 2110-2500 C for obtaining amorphous melt. Subsequent homogenization and stabilization of melt are performed at temperature of 1500-1750 C till obtaining melt at viscosity of no less than 145 P. Rock on base of sand at content of silicon oxide not exceeding 73% may be used for the purpose. Prior to loading the sand into melting furnace, it is preheated to temperature of 100-450 C and is kept at this temperature for 30-60 minutes for removal of bonded water and gaseous inclusions. Preheated raw material is subjected to mechano-catalytic activation for obtaining particles no less than 5 mcm. Then, raw material is heated to temperature of 2115-2550 C and is kept at this temperature till obtaining amorphous melt. Homogenization and stabilization of melt are performed at temperature of 1440-1730 C for obtaining viscosity no less than 160 P. Production line proposed for realization of this method is provided with unit for mechano-catalytic treatment of raw material, heat exchanger for preheating the rock which is mounted on proportioner, averaging chamber having housing, bottom, adjustable gates at inlet and outlet. Inlet of unit for mechano-catalytic treatment of raw material is connected with outlet of rock proportioner and its outlet is connected with melting furnace inlet; outlet of melting surface is connected with inlet of averaging chamber and outlet of averaging chamber is connected with feeder.
EFFECT: enhanced strength, corrosion and thermal resistance of fibers.
