FIELD: building materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the industry of building and structural materials, in particular to the field of production of mineral fibers based on rocks. The unit for the production of mineral fibers based on rocks includes a loader, a bath for melting the raw material crushed to a certain fraction with the supply of the melt to the working zone with subsequent drawing of the fiber. To maximize the use of the radiant thermal energy of the inner space of the furnace, the side walls from the level of the melt are made at an angle. The angle of inclination of the side walls of the furnace is determined by the expression:
tg α = P / S,
where P is the height of the flame space, and S is the distance at which the upper part of the wall protrudes into the flame space.
EFFECT: increased productivity of the process of obtaining mineral fiber, with decreased energy intensity, and maximum increase in the transfer of thermal energy to the mineral melt.
