SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology of manufacturing mineral fibers from rock melts and, more specifically, manufacturing heat- and acid-resistant threads and fabrics from andesite rocks. Method, consisting in loading rock into melting zone, heating it to melting temperature, melting, homogenizing melt, and drawing fibers, is distinguished by using andesite as rock, conducting melting operation at temperature between 1705 and 2100 C, and drawing fibers at melt viscosity from 120 to 2750 Ps.
