FIELD: public utilities.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment for cleaning roads from snow and ice. Proposed melter consists of at least one snow melting chamber for taking in and melting of snow containing slanted bottom and mechanically operated intake hopper with rotor-and-hammer crashers, pump for delivering water and watering snow and device for evacuation of water including water removal pipeline and sand trap in which partitions are located to provide circulation of water and which can be made in unit with snow melting chamber or as separate device. In the latter case they are connected by pipeline installed at designed water overflow level. Guard shield is installed lower than water removal pipeline.

EFFECT: increased capacity and efficiency of melter, improved ecological situation, provision of convenience in servicing and operation, prevention of getting of large-size floating inclusions into sewage system.
