METHOD OF MANUFACTURE OF INTRAOCULAR LENSES Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

Abstract RU 2234417 C2

FIELD: production of intraocular lenses.

SUBSTANCE: the invention is dealt with a method, that is pertinent to the field of medicine and is applied for manufacture of intraocular lenses. The method provides, that a casting mould consisting from two halves is filled up with a liquid photosolidified material. Then the halves of the casting mould are hermetically connected with a fixed slot positive allowance between them made with the help of the rigid gasket and conduct irradiation treatment of the mold in two stages. Initially the light is focused , then keeping a uniform speed not exceeding the speed of the compound solidification increase the radius of the illuminated area up to the value equal to the radius of the optical part of a lens. At the second stage the whole surface of the mould is exposed to irradiation from a light source ensuring uniform illumination of the whole surface of the casting mould and remove the non-solidified photomaterial, make annealing and keep the intraocular lens in the closed container filled with isopropyl alcohol at the temperature from minus 20°С up to plus 12°С, and conduct a drying. After filling a casting mould with a liquid photosolidified material it is placed in a vacuum flask and the air is pumped out at the temperature of from 30°С up to 60°С till complete termination of a development of a gas. Then the light is focused in the center of the surface of the maximum bending of the lower half of the casting mould, increase the radius of the illuminated area at the speed of no less than 0.3 mm / minute -at manufacture of the elastic lenses and of no less than 0.5 mm / minute - at manufacture the solid lenses. After keeping the intraocular lenses in isopropyl alcohol it is placed in a container with a dissolvent for 3-8 hours at the temperature of 50°С-80°С and additionally keep it in the closed container with isopropyl alcohol at the temperature of minus 20°С up to plus 12°С during from 3 to 24 hours. After drying they additionally conduct annealing of the lens by a gradual heating to the temperature of 110° C - 130°С for 30-50 minutes. The given method allows to decrease a traumatism at use of the lenses and to improve its areactive properties.

EFFECT: the method allows to decrease a traumatism at use of the lenses and to improve its areactive properties.
