METHOD OF PRODUCTION OF FULLEREN-CONTAINING CARBON BLACK AND A DEVICE FOR ITS REALIZATION Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: chemistry; physics; power; electronics; biology and medicine.

SUBSTANCE: the invention may be used in chemistry, physics, power, an electronics engineering, biology and medicine. A fixed graphitized electrode 15 and a movable graphitized electrode 16 are installed current conducting leads 17 and 18 correspondingly. Chamber 1 is grounded. Then using forevacuum pump 26 the air is exhausted from chamber 1, supercharger 2, electrofilter 7, a bag hose 8, seals 12, 13 and 14, chamber of degassing 22 and movable graphitized electrode 16 up to 4-10-2 torr. Then all is filled in with noble gas up to atmospheric pressure. In the chamber 22 at continuous pumping-down with the help a needle- shaped leak 28 connected to noble gas ballon 27, they establish a dynamic pressure of noble gas from 0.1 up to 10 torr. The movable electrode 16 is passing through a zone of a glow discharge formed by a ring-type electrode 23 mounted coaxially to the movable electrode 16, by a lead 24 and insulator 25. Motion of the movable electrode 16 exercised with the help of the pusher 30 of the motion 29, so that between the fixed electrode 15 and the movable electrode 16 to keep permanently a stable electric arc. To the indicated electrodes they feed alternately a positive and a negative voltage accordingly during 2-15 minutes and 1-5 minutes. The products formed in the electric arc are moved by a noble gas ring-type stream formed by a ring-type slot nozzle 5 having a radius exceeding 45 mm and spaced by 30-40 mm from a plane passing through the center of the interelectrode clearance. Fulleren-containing carbon black is settling in the grounded body 43. Production output of the fulleren carbon black makes- more than 95 %, the share of fulleren is no less than 12 %.

EFFECT: the invention allows to increase a share of fulleren in the carbon black to no less than 12 %.
