FIELD: paint and varnish industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to technology for preparing water-soluble acrylic varnish for wood that can be used as parquet varnish. Parquet varnish comprises the following components: dispersion of acrylstyrene copolymer "Acremos-106" based on butyl acrylate, styrene, methylmethacrylate and methacrylic acid taken in their mass ratio = 25.7:35.6:35.7:3.0, respectively, taken in the amount 70.0-80.0 wt.-%; 0.5-1.5 wt.-% of thickening agent; coalescent representing a mixture diethylene 1,4-dioxide - dioxane, 1.0-2.0 wt.-%; 2,2,4-trimethyl-1,3-pentanediolmonoisobutyrate - Texanol, 1.5-3.0 wt.-%, and monoethylene glycol butyl ester - butyl cellosolve, 3.5-7 wt.-% taken in the ratio = 1.0:1.5:3.5, respectively; plasticizer in the amount 1.0-2.5 wt.-%; dispersing agent in the amount 0.1-0.2 wt.-%; foam suppressor, 0.1-0.2 wt.-%; polyhexamethyleneguanidine hydrochloride as a preserving agent, 0.1-0.3 wt.-%; 25% aqueous ammonia solution as a neutralizing agent. Proposed parquet varnish shows the enhanced strength against abrasion of cover based on it and enhanced resistance against biodegradation.
