FIELD: metallurgy, in particular, methods and apparatuses for purifying of aluminum by segregation from crude liquid aluminum.
SUBSTANCE: method involves forming aluminum crystals by providing crystallization on at least one surface of given apparatus, so-called crystallization zone; separating crystals by means of crystal separating device; providing migration of crystals by gravity toward crucible bottom; accumulating crystals on upper part of solid mass surface; periodically compacting crystals and solid mass by means of device or each of compaction devices; performing continuous partial repeated melting of solid mass during growing thereof by means of heating devices, with mass height H being measured during growing process and heating power P being corrected depending on value of measured height H to attain solid mass height growth value reducing with time. Apparatus has refractory crucible, furnace furnished with crucible heating devices, crystal forming device, crystal separating device, at least one crystal and solid mass compaction device, device for moving compaction devices in vertical plane to provide for continuous partial repeated melting of solid mass during growing thereof by means of heating device. Apparatus is further provided with device for measuring height H of solid mass during growing thereof and device for controlling of heating power P depending on measured height H to attain solid mass height growth value reducing with time. Method and apparatus allow high-purity aluminum, in particular, with aluminum content exceeding 99.95%, to be produced.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of process and provision for producing of high-purity aluminum.
