FIELD: technological processes; metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of purifying technical aluminium from impurities of iron and Silicon fractional crystallisation. Method involves immersing into melt cooled heat exchanger at temperature approximating to melting point, the heat exchanger is rotating at a rate of 0-30 RPM cylindrical rod, which is immersed in surface layer of melt at a depth of 0.3-3.3 cm and maintained during 5-60 s to the beginning of the weight melt crystallization, then after growing on metal cylindrical rod, enriched with impurities of iron and silicon, removed from the melt and while heating is separated from it aluminium enriched with impurities, after which a cylindrical rod is cooled and again is submerged into molten till the required degree of purification of melt, the cylindrical rod is made of steel or cast iron.
EFFECT: reduced content of impurities of iron and silicon in technical aluminium.
