FIELD: hydraulic engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used to protect young fishes in water intakes. Proposed fish conservation work includes inlet, outlet and fish bypass channels with bottom and side walls, antechamber, afterchamber and water-permeable barrier. Flow guide is installed in inlet channel across its longitudinal axis. Side walls of antechamber and afterchamber are arranged in parallel relative to each other within the limits of water permeable barrier and at angle to axis of barrier where is angle of inclination of vertical side walls of antechamber and afterchamber relative to axis of barrier; m is barrier porosity coefficient; is outflow velocity; V is velocity of water intake inlet channel; K is integral construction coefficient of barrier free cross-sectional area. Bottom lengthwise inlet channel should be made horizontal. Flow guide can be furnished with stream directing vanes arranged at angle of 16-25o to axis of inlet channel, and regulation gate can be installed in tail part of work. Water permeable barrier can be made in form of net or louvers.
EFFECT: improved protection of larvae, young fishes and fish and prevention their getting into water intakes.
