FIELD: mechanical engineering; engines.
SUBSTANCE: according to proposed method of operation of piston heat engine air is compressed to final pressure, fuel is introduced into air and mixed with air and then mixture is combustion in combustion chamber at final pressure after which working medium is expanded and its energy is converted into mechanical work. Air is compressed in compressor and is delivered into external combustion chamber, fuel is introduction also into external combustion chamber, combustion products are accumulated and cooled by liquid warmed by heat from engine cooling system within the limits of maximum combustion temperature and temperature set by engine operator. Pressure of cooled working medium is maintained within the limits of maximum approximation to final air compression pressure, and cooling liquid is transformed into steam of high pressure and high temperature. Heat of working medium discharge from piston cylinders is used at steam generation, and hot surfaces of engine are protected by heat insulation from cooling.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of heat engine.
