FIELD: glass industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the development of methods used for making blanks for optical fiber of supermode and multimode construction using plasma process with external precipitation from gaseous phase. Glass soot is applied on glass rod and sintered using plasma burner followed by drawing the prepared structure. Then method involves additional procedures for applying and drawing. Fiber is drawn from the final blank. Three layers of silicon dioxide and different alloying additive are applied on glass rod. Plasma burner is placed for distance 30-55 mm from a coil.
EFFECT: improved preparing method.
