FIELD: process engineering.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises producing reactive species on the surface of material to be alloyed, applying at least one layer of alloying addition onto material surface by atomic layer deposition (ALD-method) and additional processing of material coated by alloying addition to produce new properties of alloyed material. Material to be alloyed represents glass, ceramics, polymers or composite material made thereof. Additional processing can comprise mechanical or chemical treatment, radiation or heating designed to change index of refraction, absorption capacity, electric or heat conductivity, colour, or mechanical or chemical strength of alloyed material.

EFFECT: new simple method.
