FIELD: petroleum processing and petrochemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to preparation of nitroethers of alcohols, which find use as effective cetane number-increasing additives for diesel fuels. Original material for preparation of additive is fraction 166-190оС isolated from still residue in oxosynthesis-mediated production of butyl alcohols, which fraction containing 60-90% 2-rthylhexanol, 1.3-5.0% 2-ethyl-4-methylpentanol, 3-16% acetals, and 5.7-19% monoglycol ethers. Fraction containing 2-ethylhexanol as principal substrate for nitration is subjected for 2.5-1.5 h to nitration with nitration mixture (nitric acid/sulfuric acid) at 8-18оС. Nitration products are separated from acids exhausted during nitration. Isolated organic layer (desired product) is twice washed with 10% solution of salts obtained after neutralization of the exhausted acids and one time with the same solution, to which 10% sodium hydroxide solution was added. On the whole, 3 wt parts of salts are added to 10 wt parts of desired product.
EFFECT: simplified process and reduced expenses.
