FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention describes an antiwear additive for hydrocarbon fuel based on organic acid esters, which is a product obtained by mixing oxalic acid with bottom residue from production of butyl alcohols in following ratio of components, wt%: Bottom residue from production of butyl alcohols - 77.0-91.0; Oxalic acid - balance up to 100; and subsequent separation from reaction mass of mixture of vapours of light hydrocarbon fractions and water.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of antiwear properties while maintaining good compatibility with motor oil, avoiding use of commercial products (2-ethylhexanol), avoiding use of solvent (cyclohexane), simple method of production, reduction of duration of preparation, reducing material and energy costs.
