FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: in proposed drop forged piston ratio of height of piston crown with heat dam and grooves for compression and oil control rings to diameter of cylinder is made, depending on type of engine according to the following relationships: for gasoline engine ratio of height H of piston crown to diameter of cylinder (p.c./Dc) is 0.21-0.23, for diesel engines ratio of height H of piston crown to diameter of cylinder ((p.c./Dc)) is 0.28 - 0.31. Diametrical deflection in upper edge of heat dam from nominal diameter of piston is Δ1/Dc = (3,5-5,9)10-3 where Dc is diameter of cylinder. EFFECT: optimization of parameters of piston profile. 1 dwg
