FIELD: soil science.
SUBSTANCE: estimation of biological activity and soil fertility from enzymatic activity of soils comprises measuring fatty acid formation rate when soil is brought into interaction with lipids. The latter, prior to be used, are converted into powdered state by thickening with 70-80 wt % of hydrophilic silica powder.
EFFECT: enabled determination directly under real soil conditions.
