FIELD: agriculture, soil science.
SUBSTANCE: the present innovation deals with evaluating biological activity and soil fertility according to fermentative activity of soils. One should detect the rate for ammonia gas formation at interaction of urea and soil. Before applying urea into soil one should transfer it into kinetically hydrophobic powder-like state due to thickening urea fusion with hydrophilic aerosil at the content of the latter being about 30-50% weight portions. The method enables to detect the rate of urea hydrolysis with urease under real soil conditions.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of detection.
