FIELD: data transfer systems.
SUBSTANCE: in the course of communication session between first and second communication centers first center receives data block streams transferred from second center. First communication center finds out if one or more out of transmitted data blocks were not received at all or were received with errors (that is, distorted). Then first center transmits request to second center for retransmitting one or more data blocks which were not received or were received with errors. After sending retransmission request retransmission timer is turned on. This timer takes delay time required for passing retransmission request to second center into account for retransmitting data blocks requested by second center and for passing retransmitted data blocks to first center. Counter is turned on as soon as timer indicates delay time expiration. Counter readings show if all data blocks requested for retransmission were adequately received. No additional operations are needed, if counter readings have shown that one or more requested data blocks were retransmitted and adequately received. If not, above-described operation is repeated.
EFFECT: enhanced reliability of data transmission.
