FIELD: separation of particles and drops from gas flow.
SUBSTANCE: gas flow is directed through settling chamber whose external walls are grounded. High voltage is fed to needle electrodes mounted in settling chamber for forming ion flow separating the required material from gas flow; ion flow is directed towards settling surfaces. Electric conducting settling surfaces are electrically insulated from external walls. High voltage of opposite polarity relative to DC voltage fed to needle electrodes is fed to settling surfaces. According to one version, electrical insulation is made from acryl nitrile butadiene styrene and electric conducting surface includes thin layer of chromium applied on insulating layer. Proposed method makes it possible to separate particles at diameter ranging from 1 nm to hundreds of micrometers.
EFFECT: enhanced efficiency.
