FIELD: instrumentation engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed turbidimeter can be used for continuously monitoring quality of water or other liquids, measuring concentration of emulsions and suspensions. Turbidimeter has open-top main vessel 1 with branch pipe 2 in lower side part to deliver liquid, and drain neck 3 in both to form freely falling uniforms stream 4, drain system 5 to let out flowing liquid, radiator 6 transillaminating falling stream 4 which is enclosed by two equally-spaced groups of photodetectors 7 and 8. Photodetectors in groups are parallel-connected and are connected to inputs of corresponding amplifiers 9 and 10. All photodetectors are aimed at stream and are uniformly distributed over circumference enclosing the stream. Outputs of amplifiers 9 and 10 are connected to corresponding inputs of controller 11, and control output of controller 11 is connected to radiator 6. summing up of photocurrents of photodetectors arranged in circumference around stream makes it possible to materially increase sensitivity and accuracy of turbidimeter, and accidental distortions of stream do not change summary photocurrent in each group. Calculation of result includes finding ratio of photocurrents of groups of photodetectors 7 and 8.
EFFECT: improved accuracy and metrological reliability of turbidimeter.
