FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: nephelometer has a heat-insulating metal housing 1 with a double-axis gimbal suspension 2. A stabiliser vessel 3 has on the side an inlet pipe 5 for feeding liquid, and below - a bottom opening which forms a jet 4, around which there is an array of photodetectors 7. A radiator 6 lies over the vessel 4 opposite its bottom opening. There is also a drainage system 8 with a flexible outlet pipe 9. Inside the housing there is a control and processing unit 10 whose corresponding leads are electrically connected to the radiator 6, the photodetector array 7, a temperature sensor 11, a heater 12 and a reference photodetector 13.
EFFECT: high reliability due to automatic vertical installation of the axis of the device using a cardan mechanism, possibility of all-year use owing to a built-in temperature control system.
