FIELD: electrical engineering; electricity metering and analyzing processes occurring in ac supply mains.
SUBSTANCE: method involves construction of voltage difference curve for voltages varying at frequency of 50 and 100 Hz and comparison of its shape with that of current curve for circuit incorporating nonlinear resistor. Signal is supplied for current curve construction to oscilloscope from hook-on meter free from its output shunting resistor. Initial phases of current are also measured relative to operating voltages applied at different voltages across nonlinear resistor. Data obtained are used for circuit incorporating nonlinear resistor to check it for 100-Hz current, for distortions in results of current phase variation due to resistor shunting output of hook-up meter in this circuit, and for 50-Hz current whose vector is perpendicular to vector of voltage supplied to nonlinear resistor.
EFFECT: enhanced accuracy in measuring voltage-to-current phase shift in circuit with nonlinear resistor and electricity metering efficiency.
