FIELD: electrical engineering; squirrel-cage motors.

SUBSTANCE: proposed method involves calculation of squirrel-cage motor torque using equation Mt = k·Φ1·Φ2·sinβ, where Mt is torque; Φ1 and Φ2 are magnetic circuit fluxes due to ac current in stator winding; k is coefficient of proportionality; β is angle between fluxes in electrical degrees. Rotor is found to run toward lower flux relative to higher flux including β angle ranging between 0 and 180 el. degrees.

EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of squirrel-cage motors.
