FIELD: nuclear power engineering; fuel assembly manufacture for nuclear power reactors.
SUBSTANCE: proposed method for welding fuel-assembly spacer grid by welding subchannels to rim and bushing includes assembly of spacer grid field, welding, its compression during entire welding time, correction of electrode positions in the course of their displacement, row-by-row welding while skipping subchannels disposed at locations of guide channels; novelty is that electrode position is corrected in welding main-field subchannels to rim by displacing electrodes parallel to flat surface being welded and bringing them twice in contact with cylindrical surface of subchannels being welded, whereupon electrode motion path crossing center of length between points of electrode-to-surface contact and parallel to rim plane is calculated.
EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities; improved quality of welds; reduced amount of welding process caused deformations.
