FIELD: ceramics.
SUBSTANCE: invention concerns fabrication of radio-transparent large-size profiled articles from lithium-aluminosilicate glass-ceramic material, which may find use in ceramic and aircraft industries, in particular for manufacturing antenna domes. Method comprises wet grinding of material to give ceramic slurry with density 1.97-2.05 g/cm3, 0,063 mm sieve residue 9-15%, and pH 7.5-9.0; molding products from aqueous slurry into gypsum molds; and heat treatment, said ceramic slurry being supplemented by 0.1 to 0.7% of Cr2O3 as caking activator.
EFFECT: enabled fabrication of high-strength tightly caked large-size profiled articles and considerably accelerated firing operation resulting in reduced power consumption.
