FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to manufacturing ceramic articles for radio engineering purposes, a type of glass-ceramic cladding of a head antenna cap for high-speed ground-to-air and air-launched missiles. The technical result of the invention is reduction of defective products when manufacturing glass-ceramic antenna caps. The method of making glass-ceramic antenna caps involves preparation of an aqueous slip of lithium-aluminosilicate glass, adding quartz glass slip in amount of 5-40 vol %, moulding workpieces in porous moulds, followed by thermal treatment. Before preparation of the aqueous slip, the initial lithium-aluminosilicate glass undergoes two-step thermal treatment: first at temperature at nucleation temperature of 630-670°C and holding for 5 hours, and then at upper crystallisation temperature of 1170-1200°C and holding for 4-7 hours.
EFFECT: use of the disclosed technical solution enables to significantly reduce the number of defective products when manufacturing glass-ceramic antenna caps, especially when using additives of over 20 vol %, while maintaining the high level of fundamental physical and technical properties.
