FIELD: rocketry.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used at destruction of large-size charge of solid propellant with complex configuration of burning surface. According to proposed method, charge of solid propellant whose burning surface is formed by channel and adjoining ring slot and/or longitudinal slots, is installed horizontally and is combusted with cleaning of combustion products and slots are filled with solidifiable water gel. Slots are filled up by successively turning the charge around longitudinal axis with subsequent filling to level of channel of empty slot in lower part of charge with checking of slot filling level and solidifying of water gel and turning charge around longitudinal axis through angle A=360o/K where K for ring slot is equal to integral number, being not less than 4, or equal to number of longitudinal slots. Water based on polyacrylamide can used as solidifiable water gel in process of destruction of large-size solid-propellant charge.
