FIELD: powder metallurgy, namely manufacture of cermet silver containing electric contact parts designed for electromagnetic starters and other low-voltage apparatuses.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of preparing charge by chemical co-deposition of finely dispersed mixture of silver and cadmium oxide from solution of silver and cadmium nitrates; annealing in air; pelletizing; reducing in hydrogen; coating pellets with pure silver; pressing; inner oxidizing; sintering; sizing; annealing. Pellets are coated with silver due to adding to charge finely dispersed silver with particle size 1 - 2 micrometers.
EFFECT: enhanced ductility and switching wear resistance.
