FIELD: powder metallurgy, namely manufacture cermet silver containing electric contact parts designed for operation in electromagnetic starters and other low-voltage apparatuses.
SUBSTANCE: method comprises steps of preparing charge by chemical co-deposition of finely dispersed mixture of silver and cadmium oxide out of solution of silver and cadmium nitrates; annealing in air; pelletizing; coating pellets with pure silver; pressing; sintering; sizing; annealing. Pellets are coated with silver due to adding to charge finely dispersed silver with fraction size 1 - 2 micrometers.
EFFECT: enhanced ductility, commutation wear resistance of contact parts.
