FIELD: antenna engineering.
SUBSTANCE: proposed feed that can be used as self-contained device and also as feed for mirror, lens, and other antennas, as well as for antenna arrays shaping sum-difference characteristics in two mutually orthogonal polarization fields has its pyramidal horn fed from four square-section waveguide radiators tightly abutting against each other; each radiator has two inputs; signal from one input excites nu-wave and that from other input, H01-wave and respective mutually orthogonal polarization fields; four same-type inputs, for instance those for H10-wave, are integrated by means of one sum-difference excitation node whose input signals shape sum-difference directivity patterns for one type of polarization and four inputs for H01-wave are integrated by means of other sum-difference excitation node whose input signals function to shape similar directivity pattern for other type of polarization orthogonal to first one; desired power characteristics of single-pulse feed are realized by means of X-shaped partition protruding beyond pyramidal horn and its adjustment components; directivity pattern width for mutually orthogonal types of polarization is equalized by means of pyramidal horn walls whose edges on radiating equipment end are made of metal strips placed in parallel with wall edges.
EFFECT: provision for shaping sum-difference directivity patterns in two mutually orthogonal polarization fields.
