MACHINE TOOL FOR STRAIGHTENING DISCS OF AUTOMOBILE WHEELS Russian patent published in 2004 - IPC

FIELD: service stations, namely straightening aluminum discs of automobile wheels even in small service shops.

SUBSTANCE: in housing of machine tool are mounted: electric drive system with electric control unit; spindle with face chuck for mounting in it worked wheel disc; rest with straightening tool; hydraulic pump with portable hydraulic cylinder connected with it and having rod that supports tool for straightening rim of wheel disc; two hinged brackets used for placing portable hydraulic cylinder by different inclination angle relative to lengthwise axis of wheel disc. In housing of machine tool on fixed bracket linear drive unit with linear motion pickup is mounted. On said drive unit at least one optical wave source for irradiating scanned surface of rim of wheel disc and at least one detector of optical waves reflected from disc rim surface are arranged. Said source and detector are connected with computing device designed for displaying according to predetermined program results of scanning surface of disc rim on screen of display device in the form of geometry size and (or) surfaces of disc rim. Pickup of angular motion of wheel disc is mounted on spindle of machine tool and it is connected with computing device. Display for indicating geometry size and real profile of wheel disc rim is also connected with computing device.

EFFECT: enhanced quality of straightening wheel discs, improved operating efficiency.
