FIELD: inorganic compounds technology.
SUBSTANCE: bayerite-structure aluminum hydroxide production involves thermal decomposition of hydroargillite when spread in thin layer under centrifugal force effect on rotating surface heated to 330-600оС at contact time 0.1 to 2 sec, after which resulting product is hydrated at pH 7-11, liquid-to-solids ratio (1-10):1, 10 to 80оС, and constant stirring for 6 to 168 h. Aluminum eta-oxide is obtained by thermal decomposition of the above-obtained bayerite-structure aluminum hydroxide at 300-800оС.
EFFECT: enabled production of concentrated disperse bayerite from low-grade hydroargillite.
