FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: granular active aluminium oxide is an eta- and/or gamma-form on phase composition, is characterised by generatrix crushing strength of 16-85 kg/cm2, specific surface area of 180-395 m2/g, total pore volume of 0.37-0.56 m3/g, moisture retention capacity of 0.38-0.83 ml/g and simultaneous presence of OH-centres on the surface with absorption band of 3775 cm-1 and strong Lewis acid sites with absorption band over 2215 cm-1. Aluminium hydroxide with pseudoboehmite or bayerite structure, obtained via thermal decomposition of hydrargillite under the effect of centrifugal forces with thin-layer distribution of hydrargillite on a rotating surface heated to 330-600°C and contact time of 0.1-2.0 s to obtain a pseudoamorphous structure of the hydrargallite thermal decomposition product is hydrated with aqueous solutions of acids or alkalis at pH=5-11, the ratio of liquid to solid equal to 1-10:1, temperature 10-80°C while stirring constantly for 24-168 hours or a mixture of aluminium hydroxide or oxide with gamma- or etha-structure obtained from these hydroxides is plasticised, dried and subjected to thermal treatment.
EFFECT: invention increases porosity, specific surface area, crushing strength of the obtained aluminium oxide.
