FIELD: filtration engineering.
SUBSTANCE: method is based on bringing a liquid into contact with filter containing activated carbon particles and is characterized by nanosize pathogen and virus removal indexes at least 99.99%. Method also gives information letting the user know that filter may be used for removing nanosize pathogens from liquids. In preferable embodiments of implementation of the method, filter index is equal to at least 99.999% or even at least 99.9999%. Filter is further characterized by loose density 0.6 to 0.8 g/cm3 and by comprising mixture of various-size and various-shape activated carbon particles. Filter is able of removing pathogens from a large volume of water until its saturation and may be made portable.
EFFECT: enabled successful removal nanosize pathogens from aqueous sources with low resistance to liquid flow.
