FIELD: mechanical engineering; internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: proposed engine contained four stepped cylinders, larger diameter pairs of which being scavenging ones for smaller diameter cylinders secured on ends of working rods passed through housing and concentrically fitted in scavenging rods provided with scavenging pistons on ends to form four compression chambers between scavenging pistons and working pistons owing to counter movement of working and scavenging rods. Movement of rods provides rocking of two links hinge-connected to working rods. Scavenging rods are set into motion by sliders hinge-secured on links and moving along guides of scavenging rod. Sliders are orientated cross-side relative to axes of rods. Said hinge-joints are arranged relative to hinge joints of working rods from other side of central support joints of links. Driven arms of links are hinge-connected to guide sliders made on two tie-rods and orientated crosswise relative to rods. Tie-rods are hinge connected to tenons of planet pinions of rectilinear transforming mechanisms. Carriers of two planetary mechanisms of two pairs of coaxial cylinders are connected with output shaft by synchronizing gear trains.
EFFECT: reduced fuel consumption and weight, increased service life.
