FIELD: devices used for studying of cosmic rays, in antennas, etc; injected to the space orbit in a restricted space of the nose cone of the launch vehicle, and then expanded to large sizes.
SUBSTANCE: in the expanding mirror reflector, having a reflecting surface of cells in the form of mirror components fastened on frames, expanding mechanisms, hinges and fixing rods, the cells are of a hexahedral shape of similar dimensions and join the cell located in the center, and other cells on faces forming peripheral zones with a common center in a circle. Hinges, expanding mechanisms and fixing rods are located on definite adjoining faces of the cells. The cell located in the center is provided with fastening components of the expanding mirror reflector. The cell located in the center, and the cells of the peripheral zones are installed in the same plane. The fixing rods are recommended to be made magnetic of two parts installed on the adjoining faces of the cells, one of them has a spherical working surface, and the other is installed for movement in the plane of the expanding mirror reflector.
EFFECT: produced reflecting surfaces of large dimensions, preserved adjustment of the mirror components made on the Earth.
