FIELD: mechanical propulsion devices.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods of locomotion of chain structure multielement robots with kinematic redundancy. Proposed method of locomotion of robot, using as propulsion member an extended body made for flexing to get required form, includes flexing of body providing creating of areas of support in which body adjoins carrying surface forming fixed contact. To move robot wavy motion of body is created in form of wave running from its first end to second end providing displacement of each are of support along body at successive change of support of preceding section of body to following section, like in rolling wheel. Supports can move in direction across direction of movement of robot. Supports form contour inside which gravity center of robot is located.

EFFECT: reduced energy consumption in combustion with high passing ability and stability in process of movement along different surfaces.
