FIELD: oxidation catalysts.
SUBSTANCE: catalytic composition for oxidation of ethane into ethylene and/or acetic acid, which, in combination with oxygen, includes following elements: molybdenum, vanadium, niobium, and gold in absence of palladium according to empiric formula MoaWbAucVdNbeYf (I) wherein Y represents one or several elements selected from group including Pt, Co, Rh, ir, Cu, Ag, Fe, Ru, Os, and Ni; and a, b, c, d, e, and f indicate such gram-atomic proportions of elements, with which: 0<a≤1, 0≤b<1, and a+b=1, 10-5<c≤0.02, 0<d≤2, 0<e≤1, and 0≤f≤2. Method of oxidation of ethane into ethylene and/or acetic acid and a method for production of vinyl acetate in presence of catalytic composition are also claimed.
EFFECT: increased activity and selectivity of catalyst.
