FIELD: non-ferrous metallurgy, in particular, production of magnesium by electrolyzing of melted salts.
SUBSTANCE: electrolyzer has housing, liner, electrolytic section with cathodes and anodes, the latter being placed in flooring, and module cell separated from electrolytic section by detachable partition. Electrolyzer is further equipped with detachable unit made in the form of metal frame and mounted on liner. Flooring is composed of two parts defining Z-shaped connection. One part of flooring is made detachable. Lower and upper ends of partition are arranged in metal frame for defining stepped gap. Side of flooring arranged above unit abuts with its end against support.
EFFECT: increased service life of electrolyzer, reduced chlorine losses due to exit together with gasses, and increased concentration of anode chlorine gas.
