FIELD: production of magnesium by electrolysis of fused chlorides. SUBSTANCE: electrolyzer uses housing 1, lining 2, two working compartments 3 and built-up cell 4 located between them. The working compartments accommodate cathodes 5 inserted through the longitudinal wall and anodes 6 inserted through the electrolyzer bottom. The built-up cell is separated from the working compartments by separating partitions 7 with upper (8) and lower (9) overflow ports. The partition is made of modules 11 with groove 12 and lug 13 in the vertical faces. The upper module is made with groove 14. EFFECT: enhanced service life, reduced ejections of chlorine into the servicing zone, improved environment in the shop, reduced output of chlorine. 2 cl, 2 dwg
